July Events Roundup

Tuesday, July 1 – Thursday, July 3 (one show nightly): Led Zeppelin Played Here at the AFI Silver Theatre. Local filmmaker Jeff Krulik sheds light on this local urban legend: did Led Zeppelin play a show in Wheaton, MD in 1969? Go to the July 3 show and say, “Just Up The Pike” to get in for FREE!

Wednesday, July 2: Summer Happy Hour at Urban Butcher starts! $5 cocktails & food specials. That is all.

Sunday, July 13, 3:00pm: Free World Cup Final watch party on Veterans Plaza. Bring a friend, a beach chair or blanket, and see who takes home soccer’s biggest prize. Or watch from Adega’s patio? Just a thought. For more information, hit up 240-777-6840.

Thursday, July 17, 7:00pm: Watch our local Silver Spring-Takoma Park Thunderbolts collegiate baseball team take on the Evil Empire (Bethesda Big Train)! Or catch another game in July; adult tickets are just $5 and all home games are played at Blair High School.

Thursday, July 24, 5:00-8:00pm: Silver Spring Crafty Hour at Pennyworth Thrift Shop. Come in for some thrift shopping and craft therapy at our favorite Bonifant shop. The Fenton Street Market and Pennyworth ladies will have craft supplies and jokes – or bring your own!

Pete Tan
A DC Native, people say I'm rude and abrasive; I say I'm passionate. I've been working in marketing since 2005. My brothers and I paid Geppi's rent through the 80s and 90s. My relief at an indoor wavepool never materializing in Silver Spring is balanced by my disappointment that City Place has dozens of shuttered storefronts. I love what you've done with your hair.
